The Checklist

WordCamp Niš is coming in May later this year and I applied to be one of the speakers there. It is a great honor an a privilege to speak at such even and I decided to start preparing my speech now. I do not want to repeat the last time I spoke at WordCamp 2 years ago, where I prepared everything in the week before WordCamp.

As the title say I will create a checklist of things that I want to include in my speech.
The speech is gonna be about the WordPress usage and being a WordPress professional without heavy, or any, PHP and JS knowledge.

First thing I need to do, of course, is to introduce myself and say what I do, where I work and worked and in few words how I got here where I am today.

Disclose that you do not discourage anyone in learning the programming languages, but advising everyone to learn as much as possible, and quote the bit cheese ‘Knowledge is power’.

Talk about what does it mean to be a professional. Ask the audience, cite Wikipedia and give your opinion on the matter.

Mention variety of ready solution like themes, plugins… Mention few well known themes and the fact that they are selling in big numbers because of the plethora of import ready layouts and demos that do the big part of the job for you.

My previous company is doing WordPress support and maintenance, all clients are very satisfied with the service and in time I worked there, we had only one guy that was doing heavy code tasks in the company.
There was 8 of us, and 1 was skilled with JS and PHP. He had task or two a week.

WordPress itself is heading the road to make its usage easier with the block editor and the navigation menu blocks.

Present some websites I built. Some client testimonials and reviews.

To be continued…
